Met Éireann has issued a status yellow wind warning for counties Donegal, Galway and Mayo.
“Southwesterly winds tonight will reach mean speeds of 50km/h to 65km/h and gusts of 80km/h to 100km/h, highest in coastal areas.
“Where winds are onshore, there is a risk of coastal flooding around high tide,” the meteorological service announced.
The warning is in effect from midnight on Wednesday 17 February until 8am that morning.
