Met Éireann has issued a status yellow rain warning, with accumulations of up to 25mm expected.

The warning will be in effect from 8pm Sunday 23 February until 8am the following morning and affect Connacht, Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal, Dublin, Kildare, Laois, Longford, Louth, Wicklow, Offaly, Westmeath, Meath, Clare and Tipperary.

There is likely to be sleet and snow in parts of Connacht, Ulster and north Leinster.

“As the ground is saturated at the moment and river levels are elevated, the combined effect of rainfall and snow melt may lead to some localised surface and river flooding,” Met Éireann stated.
