Weaving, which recently celebrated its 20th anniversary as suppliers of no-till drills, unveiled a new 6m version of its no-till drill in LAMMA last week.

The new drill is a compact version of the GD8000T launched at Cereals 2018.

The big change to this drill is in the coulter weight distribution.

Weaving has positioned the tank over the coulters, meaning the coulter is closer to the tractor, making it easy to monitor operations.

The new drill has a linkage-mounted drawbar hitch and wheels installed on the back instead of the middle.

As a result, this should enable tighter turning. The new drill is also available in a four-metre and a 4.8-metre version.

The drill is designed for zero-tillage systems.

However, Weaving has explained that the drill works within conventional cultivation systems for farmers who wish to implement low-disturbance farming.

Some of the specifications of the new drill include a 5,000 litre hopper, RDS iSOCAN controls with GPS forward speed monitoring, a hydraulic fan and oil cooler, a two-row coulter bar with a row spacing of 166mm, a full complement of lights, a tank sieve, a rollover hopper cover, and Mitas flotation tyres.

The list price of the machine comes in at €76, 231 (£68,600) plus VAT.
