On Thursday 25 November, Mullingar auctioneers Murtagh Bros had an online auction for a very attractive property at Conlonstown, Ballynacargy, Mullingar, Co Westmeath. The circa-81ac residential farm was laid out in neat divisions and came with a good range of outbuildings.

Ahead of the auction, the property was guided at €500,000.

The auction, which was conducted by Dillon Murtagh, was very competitive with a number of committed bidders.

Initially offered in lots, demand proved strongest for the entire property. The opening bid for the entire was just short of the guide price at €480,000.

Bidding continued in a strong vein and the property went on the market at €670,000, with the hammer falling after achieving a sale figure of €704,000, or €8691/ac.

The 37ac at Killbeggan exceeded its guide price by €102,000.
