The Dealer hears Teagasc’s finest are off on their jollies to source stock for the maternal herd in Grange.
Recent talk in Teagasc has been on tipping over to France to source high-quality French Limousin bloodlines and use them to validate the maternal index. I understand this proposal didn’t go down too well. The current validation herd hasn’t really instilled confidence in the new beef replacement index, with Teagasc and ICBF divided on opinion on results. Maybe a buying/bonding trip to France could help bring everybody together. Vive la France!
