A former dairy farm with yard and residence has come on the market in Co Kildare. The 114ac (46.2ha) is at Kilkeaskin, Carbury. It’s on the local road L50222, off the Allenwood to Edenderry road.

It was used as an intensive dairy farm until recent years, according to the auctioneers Cushman & Wakefield. They say the farm could easily be put back into dairying. The land is all in grass and is in good, fertile condition. The holding includes 6ac (2.43ha) of uncut bog in a neighbouring peat bank. The farm has road frontage onto the L50222.

The land is in grass and the ground is fertile and in good condition.

The farmyard includes slatted cubicle sheds, accommodation for approximately 100 cattle, silage pits, storage sheds and milking shed. The land surrounding the farmyard is in use as a paddock system.

The farmhouse is a modern bungalow, built in the 1980s to a good standard. However, it hasn’t been lived in for some time so it now is in need of some refurbishment.

Meadow cut for bales on one of the fields at Kilkeaskin, Carbury.

The farm is for sale by private treaty and the guide price is €1.2m.
