An 85ac holding of grassland is on the market in Co Kilkenny. The land, at Feathallagh, Johnswell, is in two blocks which directly face each other across a local road. It will be sold at auction next month by Pat Gannon Auctioneers.
Lot 1 will be the entire 85ac with buildings. Lot 2 will be 46.59ac with farm buildings. Lot 3 will be 38.75ac in grass with no sheds. Pat Gannon said: “This is a fine farm with good land.” He said that it has been rented out for nearly 40 years, so it might need some tidying up. Meanwhile, farmers will note that there are good-looking tillage crops across the hedge from one side of the holding, usually an indicator of good land.

The sheds and yard are old, haven’t been used for a long time and as a result look overgrown. However, with a tidying up it looks like they could be functional again for a variety of storage or livestock housing purposes.
The auction will be held in the Newpark Hotel in Kilkenny on Thursday 13 August at 3pm. The guide price is €12,000/ac.
