Tullamore and County Offaly Agricultural Show Society, the company that runs the Tullamore Show, recorded a surplus of almost €60,000 in 2016 – up from the €18,118 recorded the previous year.

The organisation is run on a not-for-profit basis with all surplus income set aside for future use.

Turnover for the Tullamore Show increased 7% in 2016 to reach just over €970,000.

More than half (57%) of this is earned from gate receipts, which totalled almost €555,000 in 2016. This was up 13%.

The show, which is in its 27th year, attracted more than 60,000 people in 2016.

Tullamore Show also receives about 20% of its annual income from sponsorship, which came to €183,000 in 2016. Income from trade stands was up 9% for the year to €152,500.

Total expenditure for the show came to €911,000, leaving the Tullamore Show with a surplus of almost €60,000 for the year.

The accounts show that the show has cash reserves of more than €842,000.
