RTE newsreader Aengus Mac Grianna is to leave the bright lights of Donnybrook behind.

I wouldn’t have had the Raheny man pegged as a farmer but it turns out he and his partner Terry Gill keep alpacas on their 12ac farm. The pair embarked on their farming adventure eight years ago and now have a herd of the wool-producing, fox-chasing camelids at their home in north Co Dublin.

While the herd is managed in the main by Clondalkin-born Terry, Aengus mucks in to help with young cria, dosing and even shearing.
