Shares in a number of listed Irish agribusinesses were in retreat this week as the threat of tariffs and a global trade war still loom large. Shares in Irish fresh fruit and vegetable supplier Total Produce were down 3% this week at €2.16. Since the beginning of 2018, shares in Total Produce are down almost 15%.

There were also falls for shares in Greencore and Aryzta. Greencore shares dropped 2% over the week to just over £1.78, while shares in Aryzta were also down 2% €12.25. Shares in Aryzta have plunged 63% since the start of 2018, while Greencore shares are down more than 20% since the beginning of the year.

Despite posting a strong jump in half-year profits, shares in insurance group FBD Holdings were down almost 1% this week at €10.30.

In contrast, shares in Glanbia plc jumped 2% in the last week to reach €15.
