FBD Holdings plc has announced the appointment of Dermot Browne and David O’Connor as two new independent non-executive directors to the company board. Both will take up their positions with immediate effect.
Dermot Browne formerly held a number of senior executive roles in Aviva Ireland, including the position of chief executive, between 2007 and 2011. Prior to that, Browne worked as an executive with Eagle Star Life Assurance Company of Ireland (now Zurich Life) and eventually re-joined the Zurich Group in 2012, taking up a three-year role in the group’s headquarters in Switzerland.
David O’Connor is an actuary who began his career at New Ireland Assurance before joining Allianz Ireland in 1988. He was a member of the executive management team at Allianz before joining Willis Towers Watson in 2003 to set up its property and casualty consultancy unit in Dublin.
