The holding company for Irish Distillers, Comrie Ltd, and owners of Jameson whiskey has returned €2.1bn to its French parent company, Pernod Ricard, by reducing the nominal share value of each issued share from €1.27 to €0.69 per share. The documents show reserves and capital levels were reduced to pay the €2.1bn to Pernod Ricard last month. As this is an internal transaction, it streamlines the capital structure of the Irish companies. Before the transaction, total assets of Comrie were just under €4.5bn.
