One51 acquires UK-based H&T for undisclosed sum

One51, the environmental and plastics group, has acquired H&T, a UK-based specialist services provider, for an undisclosed sum. One51 has described the deal as a bolt-on acquisition to its environmental services division, ClearCircle.

Founded in 1988, H&T is a specialist business that provides maintenance and cleaning solutions to the cement and manufacturing sectors in the UK. Based in the town of Rugby in central England, One51 says the acquisition will help to develop its ClearCircle business and extend its reach into niche areas of the environmental services sector.

One51 chief executive Alan Walsh said the deal would allow ClearCircle to continue to take advantage of the recovering economic conditions in the UK and Ireland.

“The acquisition of H&T is part of our strategy to position and expand ClearCircle within specialist niche areas of the environmental services sector in Ireland and the UK,” Walsh added.

Continued investment

This latest announcement is the second in as many weeks from One51. Last week, the group announced that it is to invest €8m in its plastics businesses, expanding its existing facility based in Cork and another manufacturing plant based in Shanghai, China.

The investment in Ireland will see the development of a state-of-the-art food grade manufacturing facility at the group’s existing site at Little Island in Cork. And, in China, One51 says the investment will allow it to effectively double the size of its manufacturing facility there in a bid to cater for rising demand from its multinational clients.
