Although not a big name in machinery circles in Ireland, Tafe is in the top three tractor manufacturers globally, building in the region of 200,000 tractors annually.

At Agritechnica this week, the Indian manufacturer unveiled its new EVX75, which it claims represents a breakthrough in hybrid technology. It combines a 75hp hybrid powertrain with a Stage V Deutz diesel engine and a 400V electric battery system.

The firm claims this dual powertrain enables the tractor to operate in zero-emission electric mode and hybrid mode for high-demand fieldwork, offering flexibility, fuel efficiency and environmental responsibility. Tafe claims that the EVX75 achieves lower emissions and operating costs than a diesel counterpart.

It’s kitted out with a liquid-cooled high-voltage system, while the three-speed transmission allows for a top speed of up to 40km/h. The EVX75 features a full HVAC cab, electro-hydraulic rear lift and independent PTO.
