Taking place on Sunday 12 August, the Tullamore Show and FBD National Livestock Show, has returned to the 250ac Butterfield Estate.

One of the significant changes at this year’s show is that FBD is the title sponsor of the National Livestock Show. However, the title sponsor is just one of many which contribute to the €176,000 on offer to competitors. It is this extraordinary prize fund, which has hundreds of exhibitors travelling from the four corners of the country to compete.

While money may bring in large numbers, for more experienced showmen and women, it is the chance to win one of the coveted gold medals that plays on the back of their minds. The medals awarded to the overall champion of each breed have become the hallmark of excellence in livestock production and provide for keen competition.

While there is something to suit every one of the 60,000 people expected through the gates, it is livestock which carries the most draw. Over 2,000 livestock will make their way to the Butterfield Estate to compete, with cattle making up over 50% of that number.
