With four weeks to go until the third Agri Careers Expo, 70 new jobs have been confirmed across three organisations.

The event, which is hosted by the Irish Farmers Journal and Devenish will have over 1,000 jobs available on the day across 50 exhibitors.

Over 1,000 people have availed of the free registration online for the expo, with the rate of registrations rising significantly as the event approaches.

Kepak

Kepak Group is one of Europe’s leading food innovators which processes and markets a full range of meats. With over 50 years’ expertise in the market, the group has a turnover in excess of €1bn and employs 5,000 people with offices and manufacturing facilities in 16 sites across Ireland and England.

Annually, Kepak processes about 500,000 cattle, 1.7m lambs, and 350,000 pigs.

The company will be looking to take on 56 people at the event. Twenty graduates places will be on offer on the day across disciplines for roles in operations, commercial, marketing, procurement, sales, HR, health and safety, engineering, accounting, supply chain and IT.

The are also looking for 30 general operatives nationwide, two hygiene operatives in Poppintree, an international trader in AgraKepak, one site manager in Monaghan one health and safety co-ordinator in Cork and one business development executive in the west of Ireland.

Macra na Feirme

Macra na Feirme was set up in 1944 and aims to contribute to the sustainable development of rural communities in Ireland.

They recently set up a learning and training network called Macra Agricultural Skillnet.

This government supported initiative, which aims to promote all the further education opportunities available to those farming or working in agriculture, will be front and centre of the Macra stand at the event.

In addition, the organisation have a vacancy for a finance manager and will be on the lookout at the Expo.

Bord Bia

Bord Bia markets and promotes Irish food, drink and horticulture both in Ireland and around the globe. It works alongside with farmers, processors and agribusinesses to support the growth of the sector through increased exports expanding markets.

Using their market expertise, consumer insights and a network of 13 overseas offices, Bord Bia plays a major role in the success of the Irish food and drinks industry.

Bord Bia have confirmed that 11 roles will be available at the Expo with posts in marketing, communications and HR as well as opportunities in overseas markets such as North America, Shanghai, North Africa and Great Britain.
