The Agricultural Science Association will hold a forum on the impact of Brexit on Irish agriculture, on Thursday 23 March in the Lyrath Hotel, Kilkenny, from 2.30pm.

Speakers will include John Moloney, chair of Food Wise 2025; Lucinda Creighton, senior strategic adviser on Brexit to FIPRA, economist Jim Power and IFA president Joe Healy.

They will explore how the agri-food industry can maintain a strong foothold in post-Brexit Britain and diversify products for new markets. It will also consider the recommendations of recent industry reports including the free-trade agreement recommended by the British Irish Chamber of Commerce and those of the Joint Committee on Agriculture, Food and the Marine. It recommended a re-evaluation of targets set in Food Wise 2025 because of Brexit.

  • The Irish Farmers Journal will report live from the conference on farmersjournal.ie
