Wexford's most popular show, the Bannow Rathangan Agricultural Show, attracted a huge crowd at a scorching Killag. The heat was almost too much for the sheep on show, but members of the committee worked hard to keep proceedings flowing.

The committee behind the show consists of 50 people and meetings to prepare for the day began as early as February. Over 400 stewards were at hand on the day to ensure the day was a success.

The livestock section proved extremely busy, as farmers filled their pens with Suffolk, Texel and Charollais sheep, to name but a few.

Trade stands were flooded with prospective customers, local businesses set up shop to sell and advertise throughout the day. With nearly 15,000 people at the show, the day was a great opportunity to avail of and over 300 businesses and organisations were there to do exactly that.

The day concluded with the very well organised annual vintage rally. Tractors and steam engines from all eras were on show and it proved to be an enjoyable rally for spectators of all ages.

Youth participation is crucial to the success of any show and the Bannow Rathangan show did a great job of including the young people throughout the day.
