Glanbia Connect will be hosting a beef information evening on Thursday 3 September in the Abbeyleix Manor Hotel, Co Laois. The evening will see a number of presentations from leading industry experts, including James Keane, Teagasc beef specialist; Willie Darmody, GAIN feeds nutrition expert; and Shane McElroy, Glanbia veterinary practitioner.
Keane will be doing an analysis of the different beef systems in Ireland, so that farmers can see for themselves what system will suit best in relation to their own limiting factors such as land, labour and finishing units. Darmody will discuss the benefits of increasing animal performance through the use of additives, minerals and better balanced diets and McElroy will look at maximising performance through effective animal health prevention and treatment.
Irish Farmers Journal editor Justin McCarthy will also be giving a presentation on where the beef industry is going and new market opportunities for the sector.
