Store cattle were a robust trade at Enniskillen Mart this week, with light bullocks in particular being met with sharper demand.

Prices for light cattle suited to summer grazing typically ranged from 220p to 275p/kg, with a 360kg Charolais making £990.

Heavier stores weighing 400kg to 500kg were also in demand.

Prices of 210p to 251p/kg were commonly paid with a 418kg Charolais making £1,050.

Top prices

Heavy bullocks sold from 190p to 232p/kg with a 500kg Charolais making £1,160 with a top price of £1,360.

Heifers sold from 194p/kg to 235p/kg for light stores, with a 380kg Charolais making £895, while mid-weight stores made 190p/kg to 240p/kg, with a 455kg Charolais making £1,090.

Forward heifers sold to £1,225 for a 535kg Charolais.

Fat cows sold to £1,410 for an 870kg Charolais animal, with feeding cows making 118p/kg to 180p/kg.

Friesian cows sold from 72p/kg to 120p/kg, with a 640kg animal making £760.

Suckler outfits sold to £1,790 for a Hereford with heifer calf at foot, with £1,620 paid for a Charolais cows and heifer calf.

Spring cows sold from £1,100 to £1,160.
