The Irish Aberdeen-Angus Association will be hosting the very best of the top pedigree and commercial Aberdeen-Angus cattle at this year’s National Ploughing Championships.

Several of the big winners from the pedigree show circuit, including some of the junior and senior champions from both the all-Ireland Aberdeen-Angus finals and Tullamore Show, have been confirmed to attend, alongside a selection of the very best crossbred stock from the leading commercial herds in the country.

The Irish Aberdeen-Angus Association is delighted to announce that a mobile catering unit, serving premium Irish Aberdeen-Angus beef, will also be in operation adjacent to the stand throughout the three days. This is a new initiative for the 2017 championships and offers attendees the chance to sample the world-renowned Aberdeen-Angus beef for themselves.

In addition to the top-quality exhibition of cattle and the stand itself, Alan Cheney, president of the Irish Aberdeen-Angus Association, along with many of the society officers from both Ireland and the UK, as well as several council members, will be in attendance over the three-day-long event to meet and chat with the membership.

On the back of the runaway success of the World Angus Forum which visited Ireland for the first time in nearly 40 years over the summer, the Irish Aberdeen-Angus Association is looking to cap an already memorable and hugely successful year in style with its National Aberdeen-Angus Calf Show on Saturday 14 October at the new venue of Carrick-On-Shannon, Co Leitrim. This event promises to showcase the very best of Aberdeen-Angus youngstock in the country and will see the future young show stars of the breed go head-to-head for some of the biggest national titles of the year.

Less than a month later, the Irish Aberdeen-Angus Association will host its Premier autumn sale, also taking place at Carrick-on-Shannon, on Saturday 11 November. It is hoped that several of the cattle scheduled to be offered for sale will be on show at this year’s Ploughing Championships.
