A consignment of young feeder bulls is due to be loaded in Waterford next week for Libya.
The 3,000 cattle were due to be loaded last week but loading did not proceed when the boat’s approval under the Port State Control regime was withdrawn.
That boat has left Irish waters while the owners deal with regulatory matters involved.

Another approved livestock boat is now on the way to Ireland to collect the cattle.
The bulls will go for further feeding on Libyan farms. Further contracts to supply bulls to Libya are expected this autumn.
