The calf trade has held its own here. Numbers have increased, but prices are similar to last week.

The majority of calves coming out are young two-week-old calves. Numbers are still a few weeks off peak.

The backbone of the trade at the moment are cull cows and despite the negativity in the beef trade, store cows are a solid trade.

Last week, no cow sold for under the weight, with the majority making €40 along with the weight or more.

The store cattle trade has continued to be quite strong also, with plenty of buyers present for all types of Angus and continentals.
