Breakthrough Cancer Research is embarking on an exciting new campaign for the New Year. They are looking to find cancer-surviving food producers, farmers or anyone working in the food and hospitality industry.

“You could be a farmer, the butcher, the baker, the cook, the chef, the cheesemaker or the person who puts the wrapping on the cheese,” says Orla Dolan, CEO of Breakthrough Cancer Research. This will be the follow-up campaign to the multi award-winning Shop That Nearly Wasn’t – the world’s first shop 100% stocked and staffed by cancer survivors.

The Shop that Nearly wasn’t opened earlier on in the year with the aim to raise much-needed funds and highlight the urgent need for greater investment in cancer research. It sells a variety of items, including books, artwork, clothing, tote bags and crafts. You can visit the online shop at shopthatnearlywasnt.ie.

Breakthrough Cancer Research focuses on funding world-class cancer research into poor prognosis cancers, facilitating collaboration between scientists and clinicians across Ireland and the world and accelerating the translation of lab discoveries into new effective treatments for cancer patients.

Anyone interested in taking part in this new campaign should contact survivor@breakcancer.ie or telephone 021-422 6655.
