Irish startups
The Global Entrepreneurship Monitor report for Ireland 2014 found that over 200,000 individuals started a business in Ireland in 2014, yet the country still places only around or slightly below the EU average on startup activity. Of those who started a business in Ireland between January 2011 and June 2014, 70% were men. Ireland ranks sixth for the number of intrapreneurs – one in 15 people in Ireland are active as intrapreneurs, involved in developing or launching new goods or services for their employer.
