In the Irish Farmers Journal from 30 June 2018, an article with the headline “Monopoly or chess the game of choice at Glanbia” referred to recent elections and board appointments at Glanbia Co-operative Society. Glanbia Co-operative Society has asked us to clarify that the appointment of its eight nominees to the Glanbia plc board was carried out in strict compliance with a protocol that had previously been approved by the entire board. Patsy Ahern’s nomination to the board of ICOS was approved by the board following a recommendation from a sub-committee of the chair and two vice-chairs.
