Muriel and Fran for Listowel show

Muriel O’Connor and Fran Curry will launch a new chapter in their musical career on Friday 23 November, when they will present their own concert at St John’s Theatre in Listowel. The duo has established itself as a popular attraction on the social dancing circuit and this latest venture sees them take on the concert scene with fresh enthusiasm and no shortage of preparation.

Fran, who hosts the Monday to Friday current affairs morning show on Tipp FM, has a long association with the music scene and featured with various bands over the years, including some tours with Foster & Allen. He is especially known as an accomplished musical arranger and producer.

Muriel hails from Limerick and has a new pep in her step since the county won the Liam McCarthy Cup this summer. She has been proudly flying the Limerick colours ever since.

“The show will feature music, stories and fun all the way, plus a few surprises too. We are putting a lot of work behind the scenes and we believe patrons will be very happy with our presentation on the night,” says Muriel.

The Muriel O’Connor and Fran Curry Show debuts at St John’s Theatre on 23 November and you can contact the box office at 068-22566 for all the details. Tickets are €15.

Dublin's CC Cooper is back on track

She was also a member of the trio that comprised Bernie Heaney and Lorraine McDonald.

Olivia to guest with Nathan

There’s more good news for Olivia Douglas this week. The Ferbane singer has been invited to join Nathan Carter on his Christmas tour and also to perform a guest spot on his Carter on The Costa trip next October.

Olivia was among the many who journeyed on the Enjoy Travel promotion of Nathan on the Costa trip some weeks ago.

But she impressed Nathan so much while taking part in the nightly sing-song sessions that he asked her back as a member of the team for next year.
