The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine last week published the volume of nitrogen and phosphorus produced on farms for the first six months of the year. DAFM is encouraging farmers and particularly those with intensive enterprises to check the statements to see if any changes are needed to stay within limits set under the Nitrates Regulations.
The statements are available on www.agfood.ie. Where a herd owner has no access to the online facility, or SMS text alert notification services, DAFM says the interim N&P statements can be obtained from a herd owners regional office or from the Department’s Nitrates Section, Johnstown Castle, Wexford.
