Minister for Agriculture Charlie McConalogue has said that his Department is currently reviewing the cost of individual items available under TAMS.

There has been particular concern over the rising cost of steel, with calls from farmers and organisations to ensure that the Department scheme is updated to reflect this change.

The Minister was responding to a parliamentary question from Independent TD Denis Naughten, who asked if the rate of payment under TAMS would be increased given the increase in cost on construction items.

“As regards the costings of individual items available under TAMS, these costings are currently being reviewed.

“Any changes identified to the costings will be considered once this review process has been completed,” the Minister said.
