There was double glory for Brooking Ranch in the Angus ring at Farmfair in Edmonton, Canada.
The herd owned by Justin Morrison claimed both the male and female championships in the black Angus show.
Leading the way in the female ring was Brooking Countess 7077. This stylish first-calver is a daughter of Bar-E-L Natural Law 52Y and was shown alongside her January 2019-born calf Brooking Dustys Countess 9. Having placed first in the junior cow class, she was later tapped out as overall female champion.

In the male ring, the outfit’s intermediate bull Brooking Gold Coin was awarded the top placing. This thick young bull is a son of the homebred Brooking Bank Note and out of the dam SAV Emblynette 4223.
Red Angus show
The black and red Angus shows combined accounted for the biggest entry of all the breeds at the event, nearly double that of the next highest entry. Taking top in the female section of the red ring was Red Six Mile Misty809E. This two-year-old first-calver is sired by Red U-2 Renown 193C and was shown alongside her January 2019-born calf.
The male champion was Red HRA Lookout 711E. Brought out by Laurie Morasch, this March 2017-born bull is a son of Red Lazy MC Lookout 153X.
