Luke ‘Ming’ Flanagan, Maria Walsh and Matt Carthy have taken the final three seats in the Midlands-Northwest constituency.

Independent Flanagan reached the quota in the final round, with a total of 121,824 votes.

Fine Gael’s Walsh took 107,198 votes, while Sinn Féin’s Carthy secured 98,732 votes.

They join the current vice president of the European Parliament, Mairead McGuinness of Fine Gael, who topped the poll on Monday.

Billy Kelleher of Fianna Fáil took the second seat in the Ireland South constituency, with counting there to resume on Thursday morning.
