Leitrim set to host Cowboys and Heroes
The Cowboys and Heroes Americana and Country Music Festival will be staged at the Drumcoura Lake Resort just outside Ballinamore in Co Leitrim on 17-19 July.
The event was launched in recent years and has now developed a cult-like following, with aficionados making their way to Ballinamore to soak up the atmosphere.
Drumcoura is a western-themed experience on a lake shore and comes complete with a log cabin-style saloon bar and restaurant. It also has a 24,000 sq ft indoor arena.
The organisers have booked a host of popular names from the country circuit to entertain patrons and visitors over the weekend, including Nathan Carter, Mike Denver, Lisa McHugh, Jimmy Buckley, Rackhouse Pilfer, Philomena Begley, Johnny Brady, Lee Matthews, Red Rooster Moving Company, Cash Returns (Johnny Cast Tribute) and more.
The weekend is like a visit to the old west and comes complete with western horse riding demonstrations, American classic car show, sharp shooters, a funfair, tipi village, line dancing demonstrations and jive competitions.
On Saturday and Sunday (18 and 19), there will be two western horse demonstrations per day, followed by pony rides for the children.
If you want to get the whole western experience, you can set up camp under the stars on the campsite, which is free for weekend ticket holders.

Day tickets to the festival are available on the day and are priced as follows: Friday €20, Saturday €25 and Sunday €20.
