A farmer in Carlow has been injured after he was involved in an accident with a beet chopper.
The accident happened on a farm in Bagnelstown on Friday.
The Irish Farmers Journal understands the man was airlifted to Tallaght Hosptial. His condition was described as critical but stable.
The Health and Safety Authority (HSA) is aware of the accident.
Safety text
Earlier on Friday, the Department of Agriculture sent out a text to farmers urging them to keep farm safety in mind during the good spell of weather.
"Plan all work carefully at this time while you catch up with the backlog. Do not take any chances," the text read.
