The first public meeting of Make the Moove – Farmers Matter takes place tonight (Thursday 4 April) in the Abbey Court Hotel, Nenagh, at 7.30pm. The event is organised by North Tipperary Macra na Feirme.
It is open to everyone and it aims to identify issues affecting rural people and to develop solutions designed by rural people to these issues.
Farmer-led meetings

The meeting will be farmer-led and farmer-facilitated and is intended to be an open conversation between farmers and rural people about challenges facing communities and issues that cause stress.
Venues and locations for meetings are as follows:
Thursday 4 April, Abbey Court, Nenagh – 7.30pm.
Wednesday 10 April, Lakeshore Hotel, Ballina – 7.30pm.
Thursday 18 April, Rackett Hall, Roscrea – 7.30pm.
Thursday 25 April, The Anner Hotel, Thurles – 7.30pm.

Speaking ahead of the meetings, the chair of ag affairs John Keane, who is also one of the organisers of the event, said: “Our aim is to give a voice to farmers and those living in rural Ireland on the issues that directly affect them, and allow those people to design the solutions to support them.”
