Since first entering the agricultural telescopic loader market in 2011 with two specifically built models, Bobcat has expanded its machinery. The new extended range sees lift capacity ranging from 3t to 4.3t and maximum lifting heights from 6m to 8m.
At this year’s Ploughing Championships, Adare Farm Machinery is set to display the TL 38.70HF Agri and the TL 34.65HF Agri. The TL 38.70HF Agri has a lift capacity of 3,800kg, as its model number suggests, and a lift height of 7m. Likewise, the TL 34.65HF Agri has a maximum lift capacity of 3,400kg and a maximum reach of 6.5m.
Engine and drivetrain
Both models are fitted with Bobcat’s 3.4l D34 engine, churning out 130hp while meeting Stage IV emission standards.
The telehandlers are fitted with a hydrostatic transmission, which is complemented by a dual-speed mechanical gearbox. The idea behind this is to provide a greater amount of torque when handling heavy loads.
Both first and second gear have high and low ranges, providing a maximum speed of 40km/h. The transmission also provides operators with precise control, with the addition of an inching pedal.
Hydraulic
Each telehandler is fitted with heavy-duty axles from the Italian manufacturer Dana-Spicer. The HF in the model number stands for High Flow, a technology that leaves the load-sensing hydraulic pump capable of pumping 190l/min at a pressure of 250 bar.
A supply of 150l/min is supplied to the auxiliary line, or what’s known as a third service. Bobcat’s Fast Connect system and pressure-release system allow for quick change of hydraulic attachments. Another feature, called the Auxiliary Flow Management, allows the operator to regulate auxiliary oil flow to hydraulic attachments.
The range has many other new features including a reversible fan, hydraulic boom suspension, Eco-mode among other operating modes, and a semi-automatic wheel realignment when switching between different steering options. The five-pillar cab design leaves for good visibility from the seat, with no rear corner pillar present to hinder visibility across the operator’s right shoulder.
The Limerick-based dealer will also have a range of Bobcat mini-diggers and skid-steers on display.
