A week previously, on Friday 20 March, PN O’Gorman sold a circa 40ac residential holding at Grange, Campile, Co. Wexford by auction.
Offered in three lots, the Horse and Hound, Ballinaboola, New Ross, hosted the well-attended event where an opening bid of €130,000 got bidding for lot one, 14.6ac, underway.
Two adjoining farmers bid it to €190,000, following consultation with the sellers, bidding continued to €200,000 where it was declared on the market and sold at that price. This equates to €14,286/ac.
The larger of the three lots, lot two, consisted of 24ac and this opened at €180,000. There were two bidders again. It was declared on the market at €280,000 (€11,667/ac) and sold at that price to a local farmer.
A derelict house on 1.3ac was listed as lot three and attracted strong interest ahead of the auction. It opened at €40,000 and with four bidders participating it was declared on the market at €85,000. The hammer fell at €93,000 to a local buyer.

Good demand ahead of auction saw the 46ac residential farm at Ballyvologue, Ballingarry sell at auction last week.

The 32ac elevated grassland holding at Graiguecurragh, Granagh, Co Limeriick sold at auction on Friday 27 March.

The 44.7ac non-residential holding at Stadalt, Stamullen, Co Meath sold following an auction on 27 March.
