Foyle Meats has temporarily closed its Lisahally site after a COVID-19 outbreak forced staff to self-isolate for two weeks.

The Irish Farmers Journal understands that the outbreak initially started within workers in the boning hall.

The company plans to recommence killing cattle on Friday 11 December with staff gradually returning to boning halls next week after a deep clean of facilities.

Foyle Omagh

While the kill at the Lisahally site is currently suspended, Foyle’s Omagh site is currently operating as normal.

The latest incident follows a temporary closure of operations at WD Meats in Coleraine last month, as well as the Cranswick pig processing site in Cullybackey in August.
