Met Éireann has warned that large parts of the country will be affected by dense fog, leading to a risk of freezing fog in certain places.

The affected regions include Carlow, Cavan, Clare, Cork, Donegal, Dublin, Galway, Kerry, Kildare, Kilkenny, Leitrim, Laois, Limerick, Longford, Louth, Mayo, Meath, Monaghan, Offaly, Roscommon, Sligo, Tipperary, Waterford, Westmeath, Wexford and Wicklow.

A status yellow level warning is in place from just after midnight on Saturday 5 December until 6:00 AM on Monday 7 December.

The weather forecaster has also warned that it will get very cold overnight with temperatures dipping to -3°C in some parts of the country and widespread frost developing.
