Pat Murphy, the Connacht IFA chair. \ IFA (Twitter)

“We’re going to the phone lines now”. The words spilled out of Pat Murphy on Tuesday night at a Connacht IFA meeting as if he was Joe Duffy on Liveline.
The meeting was held over Microsoft Teams, with many joining in on laptops and some dialling in on their phones. In order to hear questions from those on the phones, Murphy said “we’re going to the phone lines now”, skipping onto the next caller without the need for an ad break for anyone who couldn’t come off mute. I think the dairy and suckler farmer might have a future on Galway Bay FM.
