Gardaí in county Meath seized a black Toyota Hilux jeep that is suspected to have been involved in the theft of diesel from a farmyard.

On Monday evening, members of the public were asked to keep a look out for two males travelling in a black Toyota Hilux that was involved in a theft from a farm in the Grangegeeth area of Slane, Co Meath.

Following the incident, Gardaí entered a property in south Meath on Tuesday with a search warrant and seized the jeep. No persons were present on the property at the time.

Gardaí from two Meath stations, Navan and Ashbourne, the traffic and drug units, and the armed Regional Support Unit (RSU) were involved in the search.

Gardaí said follow-up enquiries were being conducted and they hoped to make an arrest in coming days.
