The deadline for planting catch crops under GLAS has been extended again, this time to 28 October 2017.

The new deadline was confirmed by the Department of Agriculture on Tuesday. It is the second time the planting deadline has been pushed out.

The original deadline was 15 September 2017 and this is the second year that the planting deadline has had to be pushed out due to weather difficulties.

Tillage farmers have struggled to complete the harvest this year, with a knock-on effect on the planting of catch crops.
