Earlier this year, Christy Moore: Journey, a provocative and powerful film shot over a five-month period on the road, aired on RTÉ to great acclaim. 12 May: Due to phenomenal demand, Bagatelle returns to the INEC Killarney this Friday. Bagatelle can look back with pride on decades of achievement, including six No 1 singles and multi-platinum album sales. Private Peaceful

16 May: Simon Reade directs this stage version of Morpurgo’s award-winning book, Private Peaceful, at the Everyman theatre, Cork. Private Peaceful is a reminder of the heroic sacrifices that were made in World War 1. The story charts the life of Tommo Peaceful, a private who faces the firing squad for cowardice. As he sits in his cell waiting for sunrise, Tommo thinks back to some of his fondest memories and reflects on the events that made him the person he is today. Show starts 8pm and tickets cost €27. King Arthur: Legend of the Sword

12 May: King Arthur: Legend of the Sword is an adventure film directed by Guy Ritchie that retells the famous origin story of King Arthur. When young Arthur’s father is murdered, Vortigern, Arthur’s uncle, seizes the crown. Robbed of his birth right and with no idea who he truly is, Arthur comes up the hard way in the back alleys of the city. But once he pulls the sword from the stone, his life is turned upside down and he is forced to acknowledge his true legacy – whether he likes it or not.
