Monaghan’s Golden Irish Eggs make their way to Dubai

One of the winners from last week’s trade mission to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) was Nest Box Egg from Castleblayney, Co Monaghan, who are now supplying fresh eggs to Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Their Golden Irish egg brand is now sellling in 35 Choithrams stores across the UAE. Other potential deals are also being negotiated, according to marketing director Brian Eivers.

He explained that weekly shipments of organic, corn fed and omega 3 eggs are now being sent by air freight from Ireland.

The company’s strong branding and broad product range gave them an advantage over international competitors, Eivers said.

The Nest Box Egg Co. Ltd purchase over two million fresh eggs from farms throughout Ireland every week.

They employ 35 people and have created the Golden Irish egg brand, which seeks to drive category growth through branded innovation.

They have been exporting to the UAE since early 2013 and are the first Irish egg company to export outside the EU. The company is also launching their eggs in Britain.

Nest Box Egg was formed in 1999 and is run by Adrienne McGuinness and Brian Eivers.
