Against the backdrop of reduced profit at the food-to-go manufacturer, as a result of £78m once-off charges, Greencore CEO Patrick Coveney and financial controller Eoin Tonge did not receive a financial performance bonus during 2017.

However, they both did receive a bonus for personal performance. Coveney’s base salary rose by £89,000 (€102,000) to £699,000 (€803,000) last year.

Once benefits, bonuses, long-term incentives and pension contributions are added in, Coveney’s total remuneration was £1.4m (€1.6m), £1m less than the £2.4m he received in 2016.
