How much does silage plastic cost across the country?
For those who didn’t manage to catch the worm, the Irish Farmers Journal takes a look at plastic prices around the country to see how they compare to this time last year.
Wrap prices, as quoted by merchants, range from €82 to €88 including VAT. This is the same as what was on offer last year.
A price of €82 is only on offer for those willing to buy a pallet of 40 rolls, but in the same store six rolls can be purchased in bulk working out at €83 per roll. These lower prices come from Co Cork while the higher price of €88 is from Co Wexford.
Pit cover prices range from €150 to €155 for a sheet of 60*120. This price works out at approximately 2c/sq metre if using to compare to other merchants.
