ICBF’s stockbull finder has received 8,173 views from 6,252 individual visitors since its launch at the start of October.

The facility allows herds participating in the Whole Herd Recording Programme (WHRP) to highlight bulls in their herd that are available for sale, while also allowing users to locate bulls with the traits they desire.

The success of the stockbull finder is all down to the hard work of the participating pedigree breeders

The facility has exceeded expectations, with ICBF’s Pat Donnellan commenting: “The stats received make for very good reading and back up reports from a growing number of participating pedigree breeders who have been contacted by farmers regarding bulls they have identified through the stockbull finder.”

On average, the stockbull finder is receiving 110 views a day, with the average time spent on the page being three minutes – an eternity when it comes to websites.

Donnellan commended the support and participation of pedigree breeders in helping to get the facility established.

“The success of the stockbull finder is all down to the hard work of the participating pedigree breeders going to the effort of rounding up their cattle to get them performance recorded.

“Breed societies have also played a massive part in making this all happen, a prime example of their support is how the Limousin Society is now also hosting the stockbull finder on their website and the Aubrac, Shorthorn and Irish Aberdeen Angus societies are also in the process of hosting it.,Other breed societies are indicating that they are looking at doing the same.”
