Key policy issues for hill sheep farmers and the marketing of hill lambs will be discussed at the IFA’s hill sheep forum on Tuesday 23 May. The event includes a visit to the farm of Callin Conneely, Letterdyfe, Roundhouse, Connemara, at 3pm and is followed by a meeting in Peacocks Hotel, Maam Cross, Co Galway, at 6pm. Along with internal speakers, the IFA has organised for Spanish lamb buyer Jose Aznar of Global Meats to attend. He will take part in a discussion on hill lamb markets along with Bord Bia’s Declan Fennell and factory representation. Policy issues will focus on GLAS, commonages and the ANC review.
