Iveragh Mart in Cahirciveen Co Kerry held its very first online sales on Tuesday via the MartBids bidding platform.
In doing so it becomes the 16th livestock mart using the MartBids platform. While Tuesday’s sale was quite small, there was a good trade for quality suckler-bred types. A full report from the sale will be available in this week’s Irish Farmers Journal.

This nine-year-old in calf Limousin cow and seven-month-old heifer hit the market at €1,490.
This 18-month-old Limousin heifer weighed 380kg and sold for €900 (€2.37/kg).
This batch of six Charolais weanling heifers weighed an average of 263kg and sold for €650 (€2.47/kg)
This batch of five Charolais weanling bulls weighed on average 281kg and sold for €760 (€2.70/kg).
