Unfortunately, a man in his 80s has died in Co Offaly following an accident involving a quad. This is the fifth death on Irish farms this year.More farmers continue to leave the much maligned Knowledge Transfer Programme. Another batch have decided that it is not for them this week.According to the Department of Agriculture, some 4,105 farmers have applied for a nitrates derogation ahead of next week’s deadline.Cow cullings in the EU have continued to grow according to new statistics.And finally, a €1,000 reward is being offered for the recovery of 45 ewes in Co Kerry. The in-lamb Scotch ewes went missing from a hill commonage on Mount Brandon.
