Tipperary’s Sadhbh O’Connor topped her brilliant showing season in style last Saturday as she and Valentine Dignity picked up a series of prizes at the Irish Pony Society annual awards ceremony. They won the international award while Valentine Dignity was also awarded the part-bred pony prize and finally the prestigious champion pony award. Sadhbh’s younger brother Hugh and Dykes Diplomead took the leading mountain and moorland award. Reserve champion was Katie Wyse and All That Jazz.

Open starter stakes champions, Parcglas Splendid Rainbow and Stephanie Cleary were rewarded for their hard work and named overall starter stakes champions. Parcglas Splendid Rainbow did his owner Lady Nesta Fitzgerald proud when named the coloured pony and top Irish-bred.

The mini show pony award went to Emma Mackey and Brynoffa Jonquil. Winner of the show hunter in 2014, Carol Ruttle returned to take the title with Bronheulog Sonny Boy. Similarly, Ciara O’Connor and Linksbury Goldilocks returned to take the Mini Working Hunter crown for the second consecutive year.

Prolific winners Olivia Marnane and Goldsworth Sir Edward were awarded the top intermediate title.

The show pony award went to Aimee Dugan and Chiddock Unlimited, while Meg Twomey and Uppacott Xotica took the mini show hunter pony title along with the top points winner title. Aine Twomey and Crecora Angel took the working hunter title.

Following another successful year, Alex Cuneen returned to claim the Connemara pony title.

The Youngstock title was awarded to Aidan Williamson’s Cadlanvalley Crusader, while the broodmare title was presented to Dermot Horgan for his success with Rotherwood Top of the Pops.

The top novice combination was Chloe Glynn and Blaenpentir Darach.

The Arran Bobby award went to Shauna Furlong and her connemara, Danny’s Pride while the Carew Cup was awarded to Zac Dair and the Pinkeen Trophy went to Shauna Lynch.
